Dogs left and abandoned on the streets are usually in poor health. They can also be evasive and difficult to rescue, and these contribute to their deteriorating condition. Thankfully, there are devoted dog rescuers who will do anything to save strays in need of quick medical attention.
A little female dog was discovered somewhere on a South Korean freeway. She was limping and has one eye that is blind. According to reports, she has been in the same area for five months. It seemed like she was waiting for her owner who had abandoned her.
A bunch of rescuers could not allow her to remain in that condition for long. They notified the Korean Expressway Corporation of the rescue effort. Then, they place a big device that functions as a trap for the stray dog.
The trap was effective as expected. The rescuers soon were able to examine the dog and gave her the name Bom. Then, they took her to a veterinarian so she could receive the necessary medical attention.
Bom appeared to be between 2 and 4 years old. The veterinarian thought that something sharp impaled her eye, causing her to go blind in that eye. Since she was young, it seems inconceivable that aging caused it.
Bom’s damaged leg had an exposed bone as well. She needed to have surgery to remove all of the remaining bone fragments. After that, she was able to use her leg again.
Clearly, Bom had been run over by a vehicle. All of her injuries suggested she had been struck while she was living near the freeway. Thankfully, she will not have to endure that dreadful experience again.
A man offered to care for Bom while she recovers. She was able to remain in his home alongside another dog. It will take her some time to adjust to her new surroundings and get comfortable. However, her current life is significantly better than her previous life.
