Life has its own way of surprising you, especially when you are on the verge of losing hope. This is what happened to Pirate, a dog that has been waiting for a long time to get a family of her own.
Pirate had people pitying her because she has been one of the oldest residents of the shelter she was in. There were no people coming forward looking for her or even inquire about her. She was looked over always.
The Hoyts were a couple who both served in the military. They were stationed for a time in Hawaii. Then they started to look for a permanent home for them. Jennifer Hoyt thought that a dog would be a great addition.
One day, Jennifer went to the website of Oahu SPCA, and that’s where she saw Pirate. She became interested that she went to the shelter to meet the dog. The shelter staff was surprised someone was asking about Pirate!
But Jennifer couldn’t take Pirate home yet because they still didn’t have a house. So Jennifer visited the dog daily.
In two months, Pirate was able to go home with Jennifer. The shelter staff was very happy for Pirate because, after long years of being in the shelter, she now has a home that she can call her own. And she has a family who’s going to love her and take care of her.
Pirate is already considered to be a senior. How many years she still has, the Hoyts do not know. But they are willing to make sure that Pirate gets the best life that she deserves. If they need to spoil her, they would do so because she deserves nothing but the best.
The Hoyts say that Pirate is quite a happy dog. She may have been unwanted by lots of people, but she surely is very much loved by her new family.
