Sometimes dogs born in the wild do not have the usual characteristics people want. It takes a long time and a lot of patience to domesticate them.
Loki was born to feral parents in the wild. He was brought to a rescue shelter and adopted out a couple of times. However, his adopters returned him each time because he was a handful.
Jodi brought Loki home and kept trying to tame him. Loki put Jodi through a lot of anxieties during the first few years they were together, but Jodi did not give up on him. Eventually, he became a loving and protective dog. Loki had many quirks that one could see by being with him.
When it came time to get a second dog, it had to be one that met Loki’s approval. They had to get along because Loki still had some issues, even if he was already an adult dog. He needed a calming presence in his life.
Then Luna came along. She went ahead and invaded Loki’s space, assuming that Loki would accept her. To Jodi’s surprise, Loki did not react negatively. He just welcomed Luna like it was the most natural thing in the world.
The dogs got along really well. They ate and slept together. They both loved going on outdoor adventures.
Skijoring was one of the family’s favorite winter activities. Loki loved skijoring, and he’s so excited to run the moment Jodi let him wear his harness. Luna did not like to pull even if she was big and strong enough for skijoring. She preferred to run alongside them, so Jodi did not force her to pull with Loki.
Jodi and her husband loved seeing new places. They’d never seen a frozen waterfall before, so they took the dogs on a trip to Tiffany Falls in winter. The dogs explored the trail and the area around the waterfall. They had such a good time that they were looking forward to revisiting the falls.
Loki got to explore outdoor places with his family, and he loved every minute of it.
