Dogs are among the friendliest pets we’d love to have around. There’s a perfect reason why dogs are called “man’s best friend.” But dogs aren’t only friends with their humans; they are also friends with fellow animals!
Of course, dogs will make friendships and relationships with their fellow canines. Still, we’re not talking about fellow dogs here—we’re talking about other animals: birds, ducks, goats, money, rabbits, and even their “archenemy” cats! Dogs can be friends with virtually any animal they encounter!
A perfect example is Fiona, a golden labrador brought by her owner for a daily walk at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. If you live in San Francisco, Golden Gate Park is among the best places to bring your doggos. They’ll have a prominent, green, clean place to play and even freely hang around with other dogs.
However, while most dogs play with their owners or hang around with other dogs, Fiona has a different activity in mind. Instead of catching frisbees or looking for fellow dogs to play with, she’ll visit her “unlikely” friends—the gophers!
Hopefully, Fiona goes to some of the gopher holes to see and say “Hi” to them. As you will later see in the video, Fiona found one gopher busy doing his work. At first, the gopher is okay with Fiona as he minds his own business. Fiona, however, won’t stop watching her little buddy.
Ultimately, the gopher finally noticed Fiona and waved back at her. As the owner notes, Fiona hung out not only with one gopher hole but with many gopher holes that they come across in the park.
This is an example that dogs can be friends with virtually anyone – even with tiny, busy gophers!
