Not all heroes don capes; some wear their delivery uniforms. This is what a lot of people now believe in after learning about this story of an Amazon delivery guy’s heroic act.
There was nothing unusual about that faithful August day for John Cassabria, the Amazon delivery guy. He was just going about his scheduled route and delivering packages to customers. When John got to Woburn, Massachusetts, however, he heard an unusual sound.
No time to think
Unwilling to just shrug what he heard off, John decided to find out where the noise came from. It was a good thing that he did, because his investigation led him near the pool of a house that had no humans in it. When John looked at the pool, he found that a husky was already struggling for its life.
With no time to think, John immediately jumped into the pool to save the dog’s life. He knew he was running against time, so he did not even stop to empty his pockets. But even though his phone and wallet got wet, the 24-year-old pet lover John has no regrets.
One lucky doggo
The 14-year-old husky named Luka was very close to drowning when John jumped in. It turns out, Luka’s owners had just left for vacation, and the person tasked to doggysit him had yet to arrive. After saving Luka’s life, John immediately called animal control for help, and the person assigned to help happened to live nearby.
The animal control officer quickly called Luka’s owners to inform them about the incident. Out of their gratefulness to John for saving her beloved Husky’s life, Julie Caldwell did not just stop at thanking him. She even wrote to the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, to share how grateful she is to his employee. To learn more about John’s heroic act, watch the video below:
