Most of the time, people regard senior dogs and special needs dogs as “less adoptable” dogs. The truth is, they just haven’t really found the perfect family who will take care of them. When these dogs have finally found their forever homes, they surely thrive.
Subaru, the famous car brand in the world, has started a campaign to make potential adopters notice dogs with special needs. Subaru also boasts itself as a dog-friendly company.
“Make a Dog’s Day” is Subaru’s campaign to help the dogs who have been in the shelters for the longest time in finding adopters for them. Besides, the famous car company encourages everyone to show extra love to special dogs in their lives.
The company’s love and passion for animals started in 2008 when they launched the “Share the Love” program. For every sale that the car company made, they donated a portion of it to the customer’s chosen organization. Subaru had noticed that most of its customers picked animal welfare organizations for their donations, and ASPCA was on top of the list.
After the “Show the Love” program, Subaru had continually shown its love for dogs. The company had included dogs in their TV commercials. Subaru even named the month of October as “Subaru Loves Pets Month.”
In October, Subaru hosts adoption events in all of their showrooms across the United States. They even dedicate October 22nd as “Make a Dog’s Day,” which is a special day for the least adoptable dogs. During this day, they vigorously promote adoption of least adoptable dogs.
Since 2015, Subaru has already helped more than 230,000 dogs get adopted. The company has already donated more than $28 million to ASPCA.
The latest Subaru’s TV commercial focuses on all the dogs with physical challenges. They call these dogs “Underdogs.” It is a simple call to everyone to consider adopting them because they also have something to give. They also invite everyone to join the company to celebrate this special day (October 22nd).
