How would you react when your dog gave birth to a lime green puppy?
Shana Stamey, from Canton, N.C. freaked out when she witnessed that her dog, Gypsy, gave birth to a neon-green puppy, who was later named Hulk for apparent reasons.
Gypsy is a white shepherd who gave birth to eight healthy puppies. Her labor lasted 3 hours and went smoothly. But when the fourth puppy emerged, her family was stunned to the unusual color of the pooch.
According to Suzanne Cianciulli, the manager of Junaluska Animal Hospital in Waynesville, the liquid from the stomach of Hulk’s mother stained his fur while he was in utero.
Though the family was shocked at first, they were also amazed at how it happened. It wasn’t every day that you’d see a green dog, right?
However, Stamey was told that the color would soon fade in a few weeks once they start to bathe the puppy. Gypsy’s licks would also help.
According to Stamey, after a few days, the neon green color faded and more like a bright yellow color now. Hulk was born at 15.6 ounces, and just after 6 six days, he now weighs 1 pound and 8 ounces.
She said, she was surprised that Hulk was getting famous online and how many people are wanting to adopt him.
When she shared the story, she didn’t intend to go viral. She just thought that it was cool and unique to have a lime green puppy. But, it happened, and she’s just happy that Hulk’s been receiving positive reactions online.
Stamey plans to find new families for all the puppies once they’re about eight weeks old.
But, if not all of them can find a forever home, Stamey said that she’d happily add them to their growing fur family.
