In this techy age, students find it hard to focus on their schoolwork with their phones and gadgets hanging around. They would always get tempted to play games or chat with their friends on these devices while studying. But Xu Liang, a dad from China, found a way to help his daughter do her homework without distractions.
Liang first trained Riceball to guard food against cats and thought of letting the pup help his daughter, Xu Xinya, study. To make sure that his kid doesn’t get distracted while she’s doing homework, he taught Riceball to supervise Xinya’s reading time. Riceball does this by staying with her human, and her presence alone keeps her from being distant.
Riceball would stand with her paws on the table and wait until Xinya finished. Riceball acts like a proctor during an examination, and if you look at her posture while she’s supervising, you could tell that the doggo means business. With the strict pup around, Xinya doesn’t get distracted by her phone anymore.
Xinya says that she doesn’t feel like Riceball’s a teacher, but it still helps her study when the dog is with her. She says that doing her homework with her dog makes it less dull compared to when she does it alone. When she’s with Riceball, Xinya feels like she has a classmate to study with her.
Xinya has started to learn how to play the piano, and this extended Riceball’s responsibilities as well. The doggo started supervising these piano lessons too, and she accompanies her sister throughout these sessions. Xinya got Riceball ever since she was eight years old, and she considers the doggo as a sister and shares a deep bond with her. Watch how Riceball oversees her human sister’s homework in the video below.
