During the start of the pandemic, businesses were closed and people were advised to stay home. Curfews were put in place in a lot of cities across the world to limit people’s movement and many found it extremely depressing and lonely since they couldn’t even visit family and friends.
Children are among the most affected during the quarantine period. They didn’t understand why they can’t go out and see their friends. One family found a way to help them deal with the boredom and loneliness during the pandemic.
A couple named Dana Fine and Steven Blitzstein was worried about the dogs in the shelter during the beginning of the pandemic. When they called the shelter, they offered to take any dogs. The shelter stated that they did have two puppies named Hansel and Gretel that needed a foster home.
As soon as the puppies arrived, Dana and Steven’s daughter, Betty, immediately started playing with Hansel and Gretel. Of course, everyone in the family was smitten by the two puppies and they couldn’t get enough of them. As Hansel and Gretel got a little older, they also got a little more naughty and always got into trouble.
They loved waking everyone up so early in the morning, and the puppies just wanted to play all day long with Betty. Eventually, one of the puppies, Hansel, got adopted and although Dana and Steven were going to miss him, they were glad that Hansel finally found a forever home.
Gretel did stay home with them a little longer and grew up to become such a sweet dog. Eventually, Dana and Steven saw that their daughter loved Gretel and they both realized that Gretel was already at home. So, they ended up adopting Gretel and gave her a new name. Gretel is now known as Raven and she grew up with such a loving family.
Even though Raven is growing so fast, she’s still a puppy and loves playing with Betty. The two became inseparable and it made everyone’s life during the quarantine period a lot easier. Here’s a heartwarming video showing how a family coped with the pandemic by fostering two puppies and ended up surely falling in love with one of them.
