One of a dog parent’s biggest worries is their beloved pet running away from home. While it may appear that a dog not returning home is the worst-case scenario, there are a lot worse possibilities.
When your dog escapes the constraints of your home, he or she will be rushing down busy streets, dodging oncoming traffic. The animal could get hit or get hurt because of this.
When a man named Steven Chong’s pet poodle ran away from home, the dog almost ended up in this bad situation. Steven shared a photo of his dog on social media in the hopes that someone would identify him and bring him home. After a week, though, Steven still had no leads.
He was about to just give up when he heard about a popular video of a poodle sprinting along a busy street in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Steven went to check it out right away, and when he viewed the clip on Instagram, he immediately recognized the dog: it was Dafi!
Steven explained that seeing his dog racing up and down the busy roadway with so many cars around him broke his heart. Fortunately, motorbike riders who saw the poodle banded together and put up a barrier around him, preventing any vehicles from hitting him.
It’s fair to say that the caring motorcycle riders went out of their way to save this stray puppy. As one of the rescuers attempted to grab Dafi, he fell flat on his face on the pavement. It took two minutes to complete the rescue, and as soon as they had the poodle, they contacted the authorities.
Savi, one of the riders, took on the task of bringing Dafi back to Steven. Steven’s pet has finally returned home after ten days. Hopefully, the dog parent will pay greater attention to Dafi this time to avoid any recurrence of this mishap.
