It’s not easy to turn an anxious dog into a confident one. Fortunately, it’s not impossible either. A good dog owner knows how to put effort into reforming a dog who had an unpleasant past. Below is a story detailing how a trip to a fun place can do wonders for a dog’s well-being.
Kkotnim was rescued by a dog trainer named Lee Chan Jong. She grew up in a puppy mill under the worst living conditions. This is why Mr. Lee put a lot of effort into training her and making her more sociable.
On one occasion, Mr. Lee brought Kkotnim to a mall. Although it seemed like a bad idea to bring an anxious dog to a crowded place, it was a trip that Kkotnim needed. The trainer made sure to bring her to entertaining areas, so she didn’t get too overwhelmed.
Kkotnim was put on a stroller throughout the trip to prevent her from suddenly running or panicking. This method worked as intended, and it seemed like she had a fun time. However, the mall trip was just the beginning of Mr. Lee’s plan.
Lee Chan Jong brought Kkotnim to a place called Withland. The place had a big dog park which allowed Kkotnim to meet other dogs and run around. Going to that place was also a good way to rest, moving away from the noisy mall.
Mr. Lee proceeded to bring the dog to two more places. He brought Kkotnim to a photo studio and dressed her up as a little red riding hood. After that, he brought her to a restaurant that allows dogs. There she enjoyed a hearty meal beside her owner.
Mr. Lee and Kkotnim left the mall feeling satisfied. The trainer has high hopes that Kkotnim will learn to let go of her past. The mall adventure was the first step to this long process.
