The founder of the animal sanctuary, Tierra de Animales, Ricardo Pimentel, did not hesitate to keep the animals safe from the danger of the incoming Hurricane Delta. The news of the risks of the Hurricane was spread to warn the people earlier. So when Ricardo heard about it hitting Cancún, Mexico, he started preparing for it.
He cut tree branches, secured things that would be flown with solid winds, and covered all the windows and doors. He also filled up water drums with water, charged all the batteries, and bought food to feed every animal. He made sure he did all the preparations needed to be done before the Hurricane hit the town.
However, he was doing it for himself and all the rescued dogs, numerous cats, and various farm animals in his care. The animal sanctuary’s staff helped him secure all the animals in their facility, ensuring they had all the food and water they needed during the Hurricane. Unfortunately, they ran out of room for the other animals. Ricardo has loved to rescue abused and abandoned animals for years, and he could not bear letting the animals strive for their safety during the Hurricane, so he selflessly catered to over 300 dogs and diverse animals.
This move surprised people in his town. And so he took the opportunity to influence people and encouraged them to do the same. He also shared how their facility will need financial aid to recover from the damages caused by the Hurricane and asked people to consider donating.
The pictures Ricardo posted to keep his followers aware of their current situation went viral, and people began praising him for his compassion for the animals. No doubt Ricardo has a beautiful soul!
