It’s hard to wake puppies up once they’re off to Lala land. They sleep whenever they want, wherever they may be, in whatever position. One Shih Tzu from the Philippines recently became an Internet sensation because of her sleeping position. Her owner calls her “Paningning” and people from different parts of the world can’t get over her cuteness.
Like humans do
Paningning loves to sleep on her back, like humans. According to her owner, Janess Cua, she’s been sleeping like that ever since she got out of her mother’s womb. Despite the difference in position, she gets to sleep comfortably.
Cua enjoys watching Paningning doze off. It’s like being reminded that it’s totally fine to take a break and allow yourself to rest. Most of us are too caught up with the tasks we need to accomplish daily; we forget to take a breather.
The online celebrity
Cua uploaded Paningning’s photo on Instagram to let other people feel what she felt the first time she saw the puppy sleep. It took less than an hour for the likes, comments and shares to pick up. The next thing Cua knew, Paningning’s photos were already making rounds on various social media platforms!
People got too fascinated with her unique sleeping style. They made memes out of Paningning’s photos, and just like that, the puppy became an online celebrity. Her Instagram account has more than 114,000 followers as of writing.
It may seem that Paningning is a lazy dog who loves to sleep all day, but according to Cua, that’s not the case. According to her, Paningning is energetic and playful whenever she’s awake. She likes to spend time with other dogs and do all sorts of activities with them. Perhaps all this playfulness is the reason why she needs to take a nap from time to time.
