Dogs aren’t only a man’s best friend but could also be your guardian angel in disguise. Sometimes, your pet can save you from the most dangerous scenario, like when a family adopted a Doberman Pinscher in 2007.
The family adopted the dog
Svillcic family from Atherton in Australia rescued the brave dog from the animal shelter and named him Khan. The family adored him and embraced him warmly as the newest member. True enough, only four days after being adopted, Khan expressed his gratitude to his new owners by doing a heroic act.
In a country like Australia, one wouldn’t expect a snake to be anywhere around the house. However, that was when Charlotte Svillcic, the seventeen-month-old owner of Khan, played in the garden with her mother, watching somewhere nearby. The dog and the baby played for some time before Khan acted strangely.
Khan’s heroic act
At first, Catherine, Charlotte’s mother, thought that Khan was getting aggressive with her daughter. The dog attempted to drag the baby away from the garden. When Khan could not push Charlotte quickly, he grabbed her nappy and threw her over a meter.
At the same time, the poisonous snake bit on Khan’s paw and made the poor dog scream and faint. Luckily, Khan was immediately taken to the vet and given an anti-venom shot. He survived, and the family owes him for the rest of his life.
Beaten, starved, and left to die by his previous owner, Khan didn’t hesitate to save a human’s life even though he had experienced the worst things with our kind before. It shows that a dog is a hero who does not need a cape to do a brave act.
His new owners promised that Khan would be loved and protected for the rest of his life. He has risked his life to change the almost gruesome fate of a toddler. He truly is a fantastic dog.
