There isn’t any better feeling than showing a stranger smile. That is why a senior Lab, Connie, from Brighton, England, loves to sit outside her residence daily and eagerly waits for her friendly neighbors to pass by.
Everybody smiles as soon as they spot Connie and her happily wagging tails. However, they light up twice as much after reading the signs right above the dog’s head.
One of Connie’s neighbors, Becky Albon, was walking home one fine day with her husband when she saw the sweet dog lying on her bed for the first time. Connie immediately perked up when she noticed the couple. When Albon was closer enough to read the signs, she understood why.
The first sign above Connie’s outdoor bed says she is giving “Free Cuddles.” Below it is a statement in red that reads that she’s old and arthritic but still has a lot of love to share. The second and last sign restated a similar sentiment, stating that Connie is old and lame but loves affection. These two signs ended with a sweet sign-off – “Love Connie.”
Without needing any more convincing, Albon and her husband sat beside Connie for approximately five minutes before proceeding with their walk.
According to Albon, Connie was very friendly and delighted to see them. The sweet dog even let them give her belly rubs. Connie’s tail struck back and forth in so much happiness as the Albons stopped to give her pets. One thing that made the pup get more excited was seeing many more neighbors walk by.
Albon said that Connie was wagging her tail happily at everybody who went past. And the dog was so gentle. The Albons could tell that Connie loved each minute of their precious time together. And, as several other neighbors would likely agree, Albon said that seeing Connie also brightened her day.
When Connie is not sitting on her home’s front porch giving free cuddles to her affectionate neighbors.
The senior dog can be found inside her beloved family’s house, ingesting all the love and affection from the humans who truly know her best.
And her friendly neighbors, who fall head over heels for her daily, wait for the sunny weather to share a special moment with their most excellent favorite neighborhood dog – and nuzzle her – again.
