Zach Skow of Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue has devoted his entire life to giving abandoned canines a second chance at life. When Zach spotted Jade, a Pitbull with numerous wounds and burns, he knew he had to help.
The man was startled to learn that Jade had no fear of humans or human touch when they first met. Even though she was hurt, Jade welcomed the affection she was receiving, indicating that she was not traumatized by her history.
Zach took Jade to a veterinarian for a physical examination. Jade’s recuperation would be long, but the doctors were optimistic after observing her response to the meds given to her.
The veterinarian dressed Jade’s wounds and instructed Zach that the dog remain in the clinic for close observation. Zach was concerned about Jade, but he was aware that she would have a greater chance of recovering if he left her at the clinic.
Jade was released from the clinic after spending several days there. Zach and a group of shelter volunteers went together to retrieve Jade.
Susan, one of the volunteers, fell in love with Jade’s personality immediately and insisted on fostering her. Susan was one of the foster partners at the shelter, so Zach knew that Jade would be in good care.
The woman was astonished when Jade arrived at her home. Despite her terrible past, Jade was easy to work with, and she immediately assumed the role of mother to the smaller foster puppies.
Jade’s bandages had to be changed every other day. And each day, Susan saw the gradual healing of Jade’s wound, which gave her hope for a full recovery.
After a few months, Jade’s wounds completely healed. Susan knew that Jade was prepared to go to her forever home, but the notion of it caused her sadness. That prompted her to decide to adopt Jade because she got along well with the other foster dogs.
